At a certain point in a woman’s life, there is the feeling of wanting to get pregnant and sire kids. Some women only learn about their pregnancy after missing their period. Pregnancy typically occurs 15 days past ovulation (DPO). DPO is an abbreviation which means days past ovulation. The acronym is used to make it faster to converse, especially in pregnancy forums deliberating cycles and possible implantation. 9 DPO, therefore, stands for nine days post ovulation. It’s a vital but delicate matter. Information on pregnancy can come from friends, family, magazines or pregnancy forums that debate signs and options. There are several myths and facts regarding pregnancy, and we are here to give you an expert opinion. Ovulation takes place when an ovary releases an egg which travels to the fallopian tube to wait for fertilization by a male sperm. It then goes to the uterus. After conception, the female body produces Chorionic Gonadotropin Hormone, a pregnancy hormone responsible for many pregnant symptoms. The signs vary from mild to severe for every pregnancy and every woman. Some signs show early while others come weeks after the first missed period. Some women have many signs and symptoms. Others experience few or none at all for some.

Some of the most common 9DPO symptoms include:

1.) Changes in Breasts

Increased tenderness and sensitiveness of breasts and breast area. As stated by Specialists, breast changes are normal and one of the most common symptoms of pregnancy in early stages. Breasts can also become sore. Cumulative levels of hormones cause increased blood flow and variations to the breast tissue. Sore or sensitive nipples can be painful for some women and enjoyable to others. Sensitive breasts are healthy even for women who are not pregnant but could also be a possible indication of pregnancy. Some women experience swollen and confronted breasts. Other feelings include throbbing, tingling, burning sensation or just itchiness. The pain, however, lessens with time as the body adjusts to the new flow of hormones. The swelling is noticeable, and breasts feel fuller and heavier than usual. Some remedies include taking a warm shower and sleeping in a comfortable bra. The bra should be well-fitting and supportive. You should carefully examine the areola as the focus point. It darkens and seems bigger when a woman is pregnant. They can either change instantaneously or take some weeks before your body begins to show any sign or symptom of pregnancy.

2.) Baffling or Unexplained Fatigue

A woman may feel tired for no apparent reason. You may, for instance, feel the urge to sleep all day for no reason. Unexplained tiredness can happen due to a sudden spike in the progesterone hormone to high sky levels. It’s hard to notice this symptom due to the many daily activities and tussles of everyday life. We know that you have a busy life and it is normal to feel tired every single day. A woman is supposed to pay close attention to her physical state. If you suddenly begin taking more naps than usual, there is a high possibility that you are pregnant. You can also end up sleeping 12-14 hours at night after a 24-hour period.

3.) Mild cramps

This symptom can also be confused just like fatigue. Minor pains around the pelvis can be a sign of pregnancy or an indication of upcoming menstruation. In the case of a pregnant woman, they happen immediately after implantation takes place. If the discussed symptoms all occur and you are unsure whether you are pregnant, it is advisable to take a pregnancy test to make your mind at ease. You should, however, note that cramping can also be a sign a possible miscarriage or other problems. If you experience anything apart from mild cramping, visit a clinic and talk to a doctor about it. It is better to be safe than sorry.

4.) Increased visits to the loo

Many women have reported feeling more thirsty than usual at this stage necessitating intake of more water or beverages. More water intake causes them to pee regularly due to a full bladder. More vaginal discharge occurs during early pregnancy. It can be in the form of a white a white and creamy fluid or wet and slippery. Vaginal discharge also occurs steadily all day long or appear in bunches. If you notice an unusual color, smell or itching, you should consult your doctor as these could be signs of a yeast infection.

5.) Nausea

Nausea and queasiness show in very early stages of pregnancy. Nausea can occur at any time of the day, morning afternoon or even at night. Some women have reported that nausea is worst in the mornings when the stomach is empty while others have differed and said evenings and afternoons. A small percentage have stated that they feel queasy all day. Levels of hormones are believed to be a primary cause of nausea. Progesterone causes relaxation in the gastrointestinal tract muscles which consequently slows down the digestive process. Slowing down of the digestive system can result in bloating and gas which will cause nausea. In other women, an improved sense of smell to certain odors like cologne, cigarette smoke and coffee can make them nauseated. To take care of this, a woman should avoid places having smells that trigger nausea.

Low blood sugar can also cause nausea. Swings can occur when you skip meals when you are feeling queasy. Skipping meals will result in a decline in blood sugar which in turn will make nausea you already have worse. It is like adding salt to an injury. Even if your appetite is not at its best, it is advisable to try and eat and get enough fluids. The unlikableness of pregnancy-related nausea fades around the end of the first trimester for most women.

6.) Positive pregnancy test

At 9 DPO, there are very few chances of you being positive for a pregnancy test. Pregnancy hormones have to be available for the test to read. Positive tests could take a few extra days. If you are unsettled and anxious to find out about your pregnancy status, you can try taking a pregnancy test. Some early tests can spot a pregnancy even before the regular occurrence of your period, and this means that there is a high chance you could get a positive reading later. You can visit your nearest clinic for the test or conduct a home pregnancy test.
